Yesterday I watched Wrath of the Titans in IMAX 3D, which is sequel to the Clash of the Titans. Clash of the Titans (first sequel) was kind of disappointing. Yet this one is still not good except for 3D special effects and some other.
Trailer:
For the first time watching trailer, I felt or at least expected much more improved sequel to Clash of the titans.
Plot: Ten years after the events in the first film, we find Perseus (Sam Worthington) living as a simple fisherman. Meanwhile the gods have grown weak, fading because humanity has turned their backs on them and lack of prayer and worship from humans. With their diminished power it is only a matter of time before Kronos escape from his eternity prison “Tartar”.
Positive Sides:
Well. There are few things which I can categorize as IMPROVEMENT and GOOD JOB. 3D effects were good, much more than first one some people say. I must mention some scenes like HIMERA fighting and going (mainly falling) to Underworld scenes which come in the beginning of the movie. Also CGI creatures are good as well as battle scenes. The Titans (and all the mystical beasts that come with them) are all well-designed and appropriately menacing ,except for the Minotaur in the labyrinth sequence. Kronos, the himera, the double-torso demon soldiers are all well done. So, unfortunately that’s all I can say. In brief , if u like action movie with huge battle scenes and mystic creatures, go for it. (PLUS 3D)
Criticism:
OK. Just lay aside those battles scenes and effects. Bad. It’s bad movie with bad acting. Most of characters were well-known, yet it was sucks. “God of War” Ares was so feeble on acting and felt like rookie actor. No exception for Sam Worthington and Liam Neeson. I really like Liam Neeson, but in this movie he wasn’t old Neeson I’d love to watch. Perhaps this kind of character (Mythical God like action character ) just doesn’t fit him I suppose. Bad acting means bad movie. Also our hero Perseus is not the hero I imagined before like bad-ass kicking demi-god. No he is not. He was just lucky, perhaps his demi-god power was calling luck and holding god weapons. In the end I thought Walt Disney’s Hercules is awesome.
Overall: Because of lack of acting and disappointing plot (except for 3D effect) I give 4-10.
