Is English killing other languages?

Nowadays, almost everybody speaks English as international language. In recent few years, English has made its position very strong among the other languages as world’s language. With the coming time English is still going more worldwide spoken and well accepted all over the world. However, as I always say, everything has two sides like negative and positive.  Due to the increasing acceptability of English, many languages are losing or will lose their strength, furthermore may be eradicated completely by this huge wave of English.  Unfortunately some of minority languages already wiped away from our head.

                  In India, for example, even though there are many languages like Hindu, Marathi and Urdu etc, number of people who speaks English is far more than who speaks Urdu.  Most of job interviews are taken in English, so that is the reason why necessity of English is overcoming other languages such as Marathi and Urdu. Due to this event, those languages have lost their strength among Indian people. Some powerful languages such as German, Italian are influenced by English nowadays as well. English replaces German words, like: cool, downloaden, sorry and lots more.  Take a look at Italian now.  In Italian most words related to IT and technology are English words such as mouse, monitor, computer, player, file, browser, server, click etc…

                There are several reasons which are helping English to become a worldwide language. Very firstly, English is the language of powerful countries like USA and The Great Britain. English is used as an official language in several countries, even though these countries are independent of British rule. Second reason behind this, is upcoming new future technologies are instructed in English. Even some languages are available to choose, yet most of languages, especially regional languages are unavailable.  Additionally, because of our social life, we always make a contact with people from all over the world. Which means English is its emergence as a language which is understood by the most of world.  

                In conclusion, English is spreading more quickly than expectations. At that rate, most of minority languages will lose their strength and English will overcome them.  More usage of English will cause us to lose our pride of our national language.
