Game Review: Lego Batman2

It’s summer break for everyone, not even mentioning I have quite enough time to waste around, I’ve decided to try some
new releases from Activision and WB Interactive.

  1. Lego BATMAN 2 : DC SUPER HEROES
Publisher : Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
      Genre: Action-Adventure
PEGI 7 (Suitable for ages 7 and older)

I love Batman, I adore Batman, I worship him…Smile with tongue out Anyways my addiction to Batman
brought me to this game. Additionally I really like LEGO, which was just great and enough reason
      to try this out.
Plot: Lex Luthor breaks into the Arkham Asylum and breaks the Joker out and just about every other super villain being housed at Arkham using his own weapon called The Deconstructor.  Even though  The Dark Knight recaptured some of them, it was huge mess for even Batman himself and he calls upon the aid of Superman to sort things out. In other hand Lex Luthor teams up with Joker to put in end to both Batman and Superman. Also he had a secret plan to win the Presidency by using Joker’s special gas to everyone choose him. The main story consists of 15 chapters in total.
Design : Just like every lego games it’s all about bricks, to build up new objects or to break into breaks to solve puzzles. Game features open world concept which you can go anywhere you want and do whatever you wish, just like GTA or previous series of Batman Arkham Asylum and Batman Arkham City. If you’ve ever played Lego featured PC games you probably remember stupid Lego Language. For thank god, in this game you’ll hear real voice acting.
City is so big and mostly it’s really colorful. Also quite good details has gone into the structures but unfortunately sometimes color is so gloomy and really hard to distinguish characters from the background. Overall design is good but sometimes it gets blurry and dark or gives you headache while trying to distinguish character and shouting out loud “where the hell am i???”

Gameplay: Navigating the city is little bit confusing and perhaps takes a little getting used to, and some of the characters are bit annoying to control specially flying characters can be tricky to control and struggle when close to objects. Sometimes it freezes after getting gold bricks. I don’t know the source but game crashes or freezes a lot. I think it’s because of too many objects and unnecessary visual effects such as non-stopping rain. Well, it’s perhaps appropriate to story and theme but it’s so annoying. 5 or 6 chapters of rain could be alright, but this is not I’d enjoy. I think you’ve noticed “DC heroes” title. Yes, you can play so many dc characters including Flash, Green Lantern, Batgirl etc. Unfortunately you won’t see them till last chapter. After you finishing the game for the first time, now you can choose any characters to restart story to play and collect unfinished coins etc.

Bottom Line: Well, it’s quite good game except some serious problems. Though it’s recommended for ages 7 and older, in my opinion it’s really hard to play 8 years old. Design is good..very detailed but if you play the game for a long time you’ll have headache. Due to gloomy  objects and environment and tricky control , long time play is not recommended. It might give you headache.  Story is good and if u get used to , it’s really fun to explore the city and play the game. If you’re fan of DC comics, I strongly recommend you to try this game out. You’ll enjoy it.
